Kissing Frogs in Cyberspace one eBook Dianne Sweeney
I picked up Kissing Frogs in Cyberspace by Dianne Sweeney with a bit of reservation, as part of my book club. I didn't know how I could enjoy a book on cyber-dating since 1.) I am a dude, and 2.) I've been married for almost a decade. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.Sweeney writes with a very conversational style and it is a very quick read. The pitfalls of all the dates she goes on is expressed with a very keen wit, and in the end you empathize with her for all the guys she has ever gone out with. Each chapter heading is funnier than the last, and just when you think a date can't be anymore of a train wreck, she dials up another one that is even worse.
Through the book, Sweeney comments on the culture that we now find ourselves in, but does so in a non-didactic way, pointing out that all this technology leaves us without the benefits of direct human contact.
Even if you've been married for a long time, this is a great read to remind yourself of all the things you had to do to get there, and that a certain amount of effort to swoon your mate may still be a good thing. (Like opening the door for Pete's sake!)

Kissing Frogs in Cyberspace one eBook Dianne Sweeney Reviews
This book is more about the author finding her way through the new ways of dating than actually finding a happily ever after. It was very entertaining and made me very glad that I am no longer on the dating scene! Cute, funny read. Definitely a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
Good read, quick read. I have read many books just like this. They are all pretty much the same, but I enjoy reading all of them nonetheless.
Well done.
This is my first review and the first book I purchased on my ! I thoroughly enjoyed this hilarious and true-to-life recount of the world of internet dating. The best thing about this book is that it is a brutually honest account of what it's actually like out there in WWW of dating.
It's starts out as a narrative and ends up more like a how-to dating guide. I found myself laughing out loud constantly and I enjoyed the book so much, that I read it in two nights. I found it hard to put this one down!
Kissing Frogs--the true account of a single woman bombarded by singled-minded men engaging in atrocious behavior--makes me laugh out loud! Some of my favorite characters include The Joker, who tries to woo Dianne by describing the sex toy he buys for his sister--and his mother; Pat, who can't date a teacher without thinking about his mother; Mr. Personality who generously offers to do something to Dianne's brains (but it's all right Mr. Personality has an "understanding" with his wife); the leprechaun with no pants; the lord of 1000 empty pizza boxes. I had no idea how crazy internet dating could be until I read this revealing book. Kissing Frogs is a heartfelt, honest and compelling cautionary tale. Read it before your next date!
I'm really shocked at all the 5 star ratings. I couldn't disagree more. I feel like the author was all over the place. I couldn't follow her. The storyline has great potential, but there wasn't enough "meat" to it. The interaction with men and details of the date were minimal and THAT is the most interesting part.
GREAT! Especially for anyone attempting the whole Online Dating scene (like myself). I felt like Ms. Sweeney was right beside me sharing her dating experiences. It was a great concept to write about. It also adds humor for those "searching for Mr. Right." The author is so open with her experiences, thoughts of her dates, and revelations about herself. It is also very encouraging as it reminds one to be herself and not force relationships.
A very quick, easy, and enjoyable read. I highly recommend it for anyone ready to laugh out loud & gasp out loud at the "frogs" that are hopping around out there!
In this day and age a lot more men and women are choosing to use the internet and a way to meet their "true love." Dianne brings a inside look to the ups and downs of that the decision and the determination it takes to keep looking even when dates give reason to just give up! I loved the emails and lists Dianne included within the pages of this very funny book. "There is someone for everyone" and "when you stop looking, you will find your true love," it is these and other every day quotes that we all hear that Dianne is able to bring humor and insight to. I for one and glad that Dianne continued to look for her true love even when some dates might have given her reason to stop, for it made for a wonderful read and an entertaining memoir for my teenage daughter as well. Who told me "It's a great book, mom."
Thank you Dianne for sharing your story of looking for love!
